Hello! I’m Sanduni Deshani Magalla, known to most of my students as Sanduni Teacher. Over the past ten years, I’ve dedicated myself to teaching English as a government school teacher in the Gampaha district. Throughout my journey, I’ve encountered countless students with immense potential who simply need the right resources and guidance to excel in English as a Second Language (ESL). It’s been my mission to provide them with exactly that.

A Vision for Accessible Learning
From the very beginning, my goal has been to make learning English accessible, enjoyable, and practical for students across Sri Lanka. I focus on students from grade 6 to O-levels, ensuring they have a strong foundation in grammar, reading comprehension, and writing skills. My online journey began with my YouTube channel, Sanduni Teacher, where I share lessons and resources that students can access from anywhere, anytime.

On my YouTube channel, you’ll find a wide range of content tailored specifically to the needs of Sri Lankan ESL learners. I post videos on grammar, vocabulary building, essay writing, workbook activities, dictation help, and model papers. Each video is created with the intention of breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand lessons, allowing students to learn at their own pace.

To provide even more support, I also offer online tuition classes for grades 6 to 11. In these classes, I can work closely with students, providing personalized guidance that caters to their individual learning needs. My online classes create a safe, supportive space for students to ask questions, practice English, and build confidence.

Teaching Approach: Blending Tradition with Innovation
While traditional teaching methods form the basis of my approach, I believe in integrating modern techniques to make learning both interactive and fun. Through my YouTube videos and online tuition classes, I aim to engage students in activities that encourage active learning. My lessons don’t just teach English; they give students the tools and confidence they need to use English effectively in their daily lives.

In addition to my digital teaching, I also run my own educational center, the Teacher's Institute, located in Kadawatha. This Institute allows me to provide in-person support, enabling students to receive one-on-one instruction and access additional resources that further their learning journey.

Building a Community of Learners
One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey as Sanduni Teacher has been the incredible community of learners, parents, and fellow educators that has formed around my channel and classes. Through my Sanduni Teacher YouTube channel and my online tuition program, I can connect with students across the country, including those who may not have access to extensive English resources. It brings me great joy to see students growing in their language skills and becoming more confident every day.
